/reviews turns a financial report into an owned review. It supports current financial reviews, forecast accuracy, and named cases with timing sensitivity.

These records complement the approved plans and outlook snapshots in /goals. A saved plan is a financial baseline; a work review adds tasks, assignment, submission and sign-off.

Prepare and assign

Preview the report, name it, give a reason and optionally select a reviewer from current company members. Saving records the preparer and creates tasks for the report’s limitations and exceptions.

Each task can have an assignee, due date and disposition. Due dates record responsibility; they do not imply an email reminder or notification service.

Actor Review authority
Preparer or company owner Assign reviewer, assign tasks, refresh/reopen and submit
Assigned task owner Update the assigned task; cannot independently reassign it
Assigned reviewer Sign a submitted, current review after exception controls pass

Installation-wide access is described in Companies and users. Review assignment does not introduce private access to particular companies.

Handle exceptions

Use one of three dispositions:

  • Open: unresolved work remains.
  • Resolved: the underlying records were corrected; refresh to verify the issue has disappeared.
  • Accepted with reason: the issue persists, but the reviewer explicitly accepts it for this report.

Marking a task resolved while its underlying issue remains does not allow sign-off. Fix and refresh the underlying scope or explicitly accept the exception with a reason. Accepting it never changes the financial result’s assurance to verified.

Submit and sign

Submit the review with a current assigned reviewer. Only that person can sign the submitted report. Open tasks and stale financial inputs block signing.

If the preparer is also the reviewer, acknowledge self-review explicitly. The sign-off records that fact. This lets a founder run the workflow without presenting self-review as independent CFO review.

When inputs change

The saved report is compared with current financial inputs, goals, scenarios and the UTC review date. A changed scope displays a stale warning. Refresh the report to reopen review and relevant tasks, then submit it again when ready.

Task changes also reopen the review, ensuring the submitted state reflects the reviewed dispositions. Concurrent updates require the current version; reload if another action changed it.

What is preserved

Each sign-off keeps the exact report, formulas, financial inputs, tasks, preparer, reviewer, reason and self-review status. Earlier sign-offs remain in history after a refresh. The report’s scope is available for detailed inspection.

This is a preserved management review, not an audit opinion, statutory filing or certification that the company’s records are complete. Continue with Supported scope for the boundaries.
