summary: See dated cash movements, within-week shortfalls, and amounts that still have no reliable date.
---

The 13-week cash view on `/progress` starts with posted cash through the current UTC cutoff and rolls forward dated projected receipts and spending. It uses journal lines from the shared calculation engine.

## Read the weekly table

Each rolling seven-day period shows opening cash, receipts, spending, ending cash, the lowest dated balance within the week, and the first date below the configured cash floor. It also identifies lines using assumed schedule dates.

A positive week-end balance can conceal an earlier shortfall. For example, a synthetic business starting with $10,000, paying $12,000 on Sunday, and receiving $15,000 on Thursday ends the week at $13,000 but falls to negative $2,000 first.

The view calculates daily closing movements. It does not know the intraday order of payments and receipts on the same date.

## Unplaced cash stays separate

Overdue or undated items are listed outside dated weekly totals. They are not silently counted as arriving today. Review their actual settlement or justified new date in `/reconciliation`.

Do not add the unplaced net amount to current cash and call the result available liquidity. A net amount also hides the separate obligations that require decisions.

## Distinguish reviewed and assumed dates

Monthly driver dates can be schedule assumptions. Captured expectation dates represent a reviewed obligation, but they are still expectations until actual cash is posted and allocated.

Missing coverage, unsupported calculations, undated actuals and assumed dates keep the view provisional. The absence of a visible breach is not evidence that every future payment was included.

## Inspect timing alternatives

Use the timing option in [Cases and sensitivity](/docs/cases-and-sensitivity/) to move one outstanding expectation through a bounded range of whole-day delays. The result shows the effect on the goal and on dated cash.

For a decision that changes the business rather than just testing timing, use a saved scenario and [review its application](/docs/decisions-and-scenarios/).

## Limits

This view does not establish intraday liquidity, predict bank-clearing behavior, certify future activity completeness, or extend a monthly cash goal into a different contractual covenant. Inspect assumptions and the goal definition together.
